Hi all,

Firstly, Happy New Year to all you guys in the forum.
Just wanna ask, how's the traffic situation in front of Summit and the Park Way road ? I came out at 9am this morning and it was smooth at Summit.

Is the highway ramp helping?

What? school reopen already? alamak...! by the way, the flyovers did not tackle traffic going into USJ from the SS13 roundabout. gggrrr...!!

Happy New Year :D

Came out of usj at 7.00am, traffic a bit heavy but it still flows, I think the highway ramp is helping.

yv, Subang is not downtown KL, too many flyover will make it like one. :)

Wait a few more days before anyone start to celebrate. The holiday mood or hangup isn't over just yet. Some of them still on leave to chauffer their prize possesion to the kindy or primary. Having said that I still hope we can all saviour the smooth flow a little bit longer.

The moment of truth is here with us. Traffic this morning was horrible. Drop my kid at SMK 12 at 7.10 and it took me one hour to reach Federal Highway! Problem area is the usual USJ 3- USJ 4 exit roads but this morning the Federal Highway was very congested at the Subang exit and the backlog affected the newly opened NPE flyover at SS 19. Here, the traffic was criss crossing and no thanks to all those people jumping queue and cutting it just before the KFC exit. Was just passing by when a car broke down just below the flyover to Subang Parade and God help those coming out after 8.10am. Sure screwed up one. Chermain who was just 10 minutes behind me was pre alerted by me and she was just in time to detour to Jalan Kewajipan and head towards NPE to go down town. When she reached Bangsar exit, she called me and I was still in Subang Jaya!! That is how bad it was.

I think by now, those who work in KL area .. will be leaving their hse at most by 6am in the morning to avoid jams .. those in PJ leave by 6.30am .. that way, i guess it shouldn't be any problem ..

Maybe our working hours should start at 10am? hehe .. then all of us won't hv any problem gettin' stucked in the jams ... ;)

talking about JAMS,

i observed that trafic on the roads during school time vs during school holidays is really very, very different

this shows that many hantar their kids to school first then, go to work or
many hantar , then go back home, whatever

If you do a survey here, most likely minority would use "school buses" or such to ferry their loved ones to n from school. We would use such transport only as a last n desperate resort.

As for traffic situation if there were enough schools and calibre teachers and all schools were single session say from 9 till 3 .. hmm.. wishful thinking..

was on the road out yesterday. Lick Hung School caused the jam coming out of USJ. After that was OK.

Today, it rained in the morning that is one of the reason there was a jam.

Really dunno whether the new flyover would actually help....

USJ= Ultra Super Jam.....

Just didn't know what the xxxx happened today. Yesterday, left my place at 8:15 in USJ14 and reached the PJ Free Trade Zone at 8:45. Today, I left around the same time and it took me one bloody hour and I was late for work!

Ever wondered, the more highways they build, the more policeman required to direct traffic, and the jams worsen. Ironic huh?

When will it ever end? Looks like the opening of the ramps are not achieving its objectives!

Please don't blame the ramp. The problem is the developers are building too many houses here and at the fringes and they bulldoze those additional traffic into our community. That is why we ask you to say NO to the Batu 3 flyover into USJ in USJ 3ABCD. This is what we should do. Unless we stop more highways dumping all their shiit here, no amount of road improvements will solve the horrible jams here. We should support the Sunway Ramp at Jalan Kewajipan and the NPE Ramp at SS 19 and instead so No to the Batu 3 Link and the USJ 1 TESCO Link while they are still not being built.

idolfan, ur idea & mine are the same, it can be done as other developed countries have only single session school, the timing of the school do not coincide with the working ppl rush hour, pls allow me to repost my previous idea of "thinking out of the box" which I posted here many donkey yrs ago :D

Did any of you notice the stressless journey to work in the morning and sometimes in the evening during the school holidays, I was wondering why can't we have that the whole year round, I don't mean to close all the schools, but instead of having 2 session (morning & afternoon), why not 1 (like in most develop country) and make the school hours let's say between 10.00am to 4.00pm so that the school traffic won't clash with the office going traffic, set down rules, so that no school bus allowed on the road b4 9.00am and after 5.00pm.

Instead of building more ramps, flyover, flyunder, toll road, just build more school!!! Do u notice that alot of sekolah kebangsaan school in SJ & USJ are not fully occupied, they remain empty for yrs, maybe those crowded school can use those

So, do you all now know and realise that additional roads/highways/access into and out of Subang are detriment to all residents here. It will just add to the worsening traffic ecology in Subang. Improvements to existing roads like ramps and widening of main thoroughfare roads are a different matter than adding more access roads into Subang. I am with PCYeoh in objecting to the Batu 3 Link and the USJ1 TESCO Link. And there will be a Public Hearing on this again next week for Subang residents. Residents are urged to attend to register your objections with regards to the Subang's worsening traffic ecology and safety. I will let PCYeoh put up the details of this Hearing.

Read abt it in the Star (http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/1/4/nation/13015776&sec=nation). Again, it is the fault of the parents if the national schools are empty or with low enrolment figures? And every year, this 'prominent' school in Subang is highlighted because it is a contributor to the choking congestion here. C'mon, gomen, you can do better than this pathetic blame game. Buck up Mr. Kris Wielding Minister!

I got at at 0615, left my place from USJ14 at 0630. Started the engine at 0637. Guess what time I'm at 3K Complex? 0641...... 4 minutes only from USJ 14 to the treacherous Summit Hotel and onto NPE. If you add in the traffic lights, maybe 8 minutes?
Compared with getting up at 0815. I think you need to add 30 minutes for my route at that time.
Do inform me of this morning's jam.

I came out at 8.30 yesterday and it took me about 1 hour to reach Federal highway from USJ5. The jam is so terrible at USJ3 to SS19 exit. The policeman and the newly built NPE flyover can't help in solving the problem.

Should start using smaller cars like kelisa / kancil / kenari .. easier to move about in the morning jams ..

Another reason for the jams is also b'cos residents from back road Puchong & Shah Alam are also using the same route exit as us .. I guess there jz isn't enuf of exits in Subang Jaya.

There are more than enough exits in usj but there isn't any unobstructed exits ....one that doesn't have to hit a traffic light on the exit way...

To me there are only 2 exits in usj .. one is usj4 exit another is summit there .. right before we can branch out to few other exits .. seems like a bottle neck to me ..

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. I was busy for the past few days and only log on today. The traffic is still consider smooth for the past 3 days as compare to the actual "Jam" condition and I guess it will be back to the normal "Jam" next week as most parents are still on leave.
I left SS14 at 8.15 a.m. yesterday and reached Jln 222,PJ at 8.35 a.m. Today left abt 8.25 and reached at abt 8.40 a.m. ;)

this morning trafic condition around the sek keb lik hung area was pretty BAD
there were trafic cops there to control trafic

so those going straight ie towards federal highways were SLOWED down
hence the back flow all the way to usj 2

this is the first time i see trafic cops there though

hope all these get back to NORMAL soon

me too, i hope the situation wud be better next week. cannot tahan if this is the NORM. anyway, we all must be calm and courteous on the road.

Ayoo Cher, evelyn did not give u the whole picture of the jam. From usj Kewajipan flyover to Sunway no jam, but summit junction jam & bali junction jam until u can't recognize ur mother.
I can use both Tujuan or Kewajipan to get to work, I have compared both ways, if no jam, both more or less the same time, it all depands on the traffic at the point of time, it will be nice if usj.com can host live cctv at the 2 bridges looking into usj, so u can decide which route to take :D .(dream on)

Hello, hello,

as i posted yesterday about the TERRIBLE JAM prior to leaving usj via the main road that runs past usj 4, crosses the kesas highway, past the junctions
mahu masuk sek lik hung , then straight to join federal highway

today the trafic condition was worse than yesterday
starting from usj 2 area, the cars are just jammed packed there, just CRAWLING, STOP, CRAWL

anyone care to speculate what the cause could be ??

i have been using this route the whole of last year, inclusive of school time,
leaving my house the SAME time but WHAT HAPPENS SINCE THE SCHOOL STARTED ????

all perimeters are the same

Question : starting 2006, has there been a sudden influx of residents in usj to

warrant this JAM or suddenly all parents decide to send kids to school by car ??
