This is one question I asked when I saw the signboard (http://mydailynuggets.blogspot.com/2006/01/has-jkp-zon-7-become-extension-of.html) at the entrance of the JKP Zon 7's container cabin. I am a committee member and I didn't know about it. I checked with some others and they are also in the blur. And the best part, the Chairman also dunno!

Err...Aiyoooooo!...like that also can wan meh?....what the heck the ADUN is trying to do there...hijacking the facility for whatever agendas that he might have in his sleeves...instead of spending more of his time putting his actions where his mouth is...all the pre 2004 election of AKU JANJI this n AKU JANJI that...has NOT been moving at all...ahem...nothing BUT lips servicing...
IF genuinely he has his residents in mind to serve them well enough...he could bluddy heck serve them from his existing office or in any public meeting places or kopitiams as the extentions of his service centre...
So far...NO ADUN or MP...has ever ignored to answer Orchi's phone calls or reply to Orchi's SMS messages to him...on related issues...NOBODY except him n the MP of PUCHONG...YB Lau Ying Peng...!

I believe the ADUN acted under ill-advisement. Still, that isn't a valid excuse.

This is something new to me but when we were operating as Zon 3 (USJ 12-USJ 27) where it transverse 2 political boundaries served by 2 ADUN, such thing will give rise to conflict. I spoke to Dr Kow this morning and he said he is very aware of this. In fact the sign board is sponsored by a contractor and the contractor has erected them at 3 other cabins and there was no issue. He said that if this is creating a issue here, he will remove it. But he said the Zon 7 committee should meet to decide. The YDP of Zon 7 is aware of this arrangement contrary to your statement and since Dr Kow is also aware, he is therefore not ill advised. In fact he did said that if the residents can provide him with a office space, he is willing to turun padang on a regular basis to attend to the residents' issue. The signboard is telling the residents on this arrangement. On the same note he said that since he is wearing the hat as a ADUN and not a MCA party hat, he sees no reason why people would object. But I still believe that MPSJ should quickly come up with a guideline on how this cabin can be used as this is taxpayer money. The ADUN can meet the rakyat even under the coconut tree but then again where to find such tree in USJ. And hopefully, others with the similar good intention can also use the cabin. What if Keadilan wants to provide free tuition to the community, will they also get to use the cabin too?

Rightly, this should be so but why not?

The JKP cabin costing RM 20,000 each is approximately two 40 footer container size welded together. Inside is a office measuring 10 ft x 8 ft, a pantry same dimension and a hall that can easily sits 40 people theatre style. It has a toilet as well. There are two 1.5 hp airconditioner and electricity is supplied by Tenaga where the bill has to be borne by the JKP itself. I am not too sure about water supply as ours in Zon 3 has yet to get its water supply. Currently we are worse off than the kampong people as we depend on God to provide us as I could see a big water tank placed high above the ground to collect it. So if God fails to provide, the cabin will smell of shiit. MPSJ provides only the bare bones and the JKP will have to furnish it. By the way, while waiting for TNB to supply the electricity, MPSJ install a generator set in the meantime. The joke is recently I found out that the RM 5 of petrol can last me only 90 minutes and the noise created by the gen set is so unbearable that I can't even hear myself talking. That is why some cabins became white elephants and prone to vandalism. Three JKP lost their airconditioners while I lost all the copper piping to my aircond!! which was on the exterior. It is a mtter of time the thieves come for my two airconds. None of the JKP cabin glass windows was spared. All were smashed. Until this day, I never got to use ours so it may be a good idea if someone like the ADUN can make full use of them but MPSJ must come up with a proper guideling first. By the way, MPSJ allocates RM 3,000 annually for the JKP as their operating budget to defray the cost of secretarial and other incidentals.

PC, you obviously missed the point. In my blog, I welcome that but I think no one can just barge in like this without consultation with the JKP, who in this case is the caretaker.

I totally agree with you, Raymond. Though I am the Chairman of Zon 3, I will definitely hesitate if Dato Lee our ADUN wants to use our cabin. This is especially so when our cabin is very near to the residential houses compared to Zon 7. If the ADUN wants to be so intimate with the residents, as I have said, even the space under the coconut tree will do. Why I supported you is also I do not want to see people marking their territory on public properties and use it later to extend their influence. I have nothing against Dr Kow. But I also questioned him whether he has consulted MPSJ. There is nothing to stop the Gerakan MP of Puchong setting up office in that cabin to one up the MCA ADUN and I wonder where it will lead to. I believe the JKP should be neutral. Morever the government and the party has allocation to set up their services centres and that is good enough. To meet his constituents, there are many ways. I was told that this year, MPSJ is very supportive of Mesra Rakyat program that it is allocating a further RM 17,000 to fund community projects that the JKP should plan for the year. At these functions, those who holds public offices can use this platform to update their constituents

When PC Yeoh spoke with YB Dr. Kow Cheong Wei on this (http://mydailynuggets.blogspot.com/2006/01/has-jkp-zon-7-become-extension-of.html), he sounded visibly upset and asked why are we getting personal.
We aren't, YB. Give me a few days to gather and verify some information and just stay tuned to this channel (http://mydailynuggets.blogspot.com/2006/01/its-not-persoanl-yb.html).
