Donít start ticket price war, Langkawi ferry operators warned !!!

We are struggling with the high inflation rate in Malaysia and yet some people against lower pricing... When petrol and etc goes up, the govt asks the vendors not to increase too much and what about when there are parties willing to lower the pricing?? Where is the fairness??

Have you ever consider that in a price war nobody wins. That the first loser would likely be the consumer.

Because no profit means no quality of service. Would you want to travel in a ferry that is poorly maintained and without adequate safety gears because there is no money for it?

The government might have their reasons to ensure that a fair price is maintained. We get what we pay for.

Price war may means low profit but does not meant no profit. Low profit does not neccessary means no quality of service. It does not neccessary means poorly maintained and without adequate safety gears.

Is AirAsia poorly maintained, without safety gears and without profit? not at all.

U may not believe it...but price war means survival of the fittest, better quality wins and the consumer get to have a better bargain and product.

How much do you really understand about AirAsia's operation? As for my earlier comments, I believe and support a FAIR market price.

tan san, fair market is justify by the laws of demand and supply and not when the govt interfers. Take Digi and Maxis prepaid price wars for instance, not too long ago buying a starter pack at RM8.50 with RM25 free airtime would have been unimaginable. Price notwithstanding, both companies have also thrown in alot of cost-saving innovative features to attract customers.

Rather than pack-up and close shop, ferry operators can merged into one big happy family. This would ensure survival and heck, consumers then would be at the losing end when dealing with a monopolistic environment.

So why does the govt need to come in with warnings and eventually subsequent offers of subsidy la la la.

Maybe it is because other people's interests are affected. Similar situation with MAS. In the past MAS always had this bull ****e story that they were subsidizing the domestic routes with the more lucrative international routes. That was until Airasia came in and proved what a load or rubbish that was told to us for years by MAS. Same situation with proton, We buy lower specced cars locally only to find that proton was selling higher specced cars overseas at prices that was even lower than the local selling prices and that is without consideration of logistics thrown into the equation.

We should not subsidise their inefficiencies at our own expenses.... Malaysia Memang Boleh...!!!!
