Last Saturday, me and my wife's family try out a steamboat dinner in AmanPuri and we were told that they charged Rm12 per head excluding drinks. The portion was exceptionally small. It was delicious and we ask for additional top up. To my surprise and luckilly I inquire first, the fish ball is 80 cents a piece !. I turn down. Later the staff told me that the original portion is designed to lure you to further toppings and additions and that where the knife is sharpened. So beware, forumners all that is advertised cheap comes with a motive.

thanks for the HIGHLIGHT here...

about time, we banded together to teach these unscroupulous traders that we are kept informed of their tricks and thus avoid being taken for a ride...

i am sure that most of us wouldn't lamblast a shop if it wasn't true anyway...

come to thing of it... maybe the mods would create another section to inform residents and forummmers about cheats/con shops in our community...

Here's one that I heard from my colleague's experience at SS15 Asia Cafe
One of the Ikan Bakar stall (the stall nearby Korean Stall, not the other 2 corner lot) is offering buy 1 free 1 promotion. So he ordered one
When the fish arrived, yes it's in two portion, but it's just basically one fish sliced into bottom and top halves, and served as two portion. Not quite buy 1 fish free 1 fish as advertised.

The onus lies the buyer/consumer to check and confirm prices, terms and/or conditions and whatever "fine prints" there are.

Remember "buyers beware !" - when the offer is too good to be true, tread with care .

hehhhehehehhh...it all comes back to NO ONE, repeat after me, NO ONE luvvvvv u at all....Its only business!

Next on board, for shoe shoppers would be " Buy right shoe, get left for FREE!" :D or better yet, a salon's "Get an Eye Brow Reshaped for FREE!"

hahahahha...but again do, watch out and ask the question when u come across "Crab - RM18.00 per kilo"...betcha its only 500gm max..cos most will serve you 2 small crabs. This tactic applies to all inclu ALL the restorans in aman puri area...

At the established seafood place in Tanjong Tokong (yes, the 1 next to the temple), a kilo is about rm40.00 and u get 4 female crabs with roe all over :D :D NOw, thats honest bizz where they got my loyal patronage for a long long time...

I'd like to thank you folks for highlighting these sleezy deceiving daylight robbering eateries.
Forgive me if I sound harsh but I can't think of anything more appropriate to describe their lack of good business ethics.
Feel free to expose them all..I for sure appreciate and learn from your experiences!
Good day folks!

We could use the Cari Makan category to highlight our rants?..what say you Mr Admin?
Well, I did rant about mamak teh tarik price increase which was absolutely unjustified but seems to hit a dead end and perhaps too trivial. Sigh!. The mamak is still enjoying the windfall!..
Maybe if one is conned 50 bucks at one sitting, it could attract more attention and concern?

its near my opic lah...dataran prima...there also got baywatch (hic!) :D

There got old shop lots, all cheating when it come to RM18 to RM20 per kg of crab (unless they also weighted the sauce lah :D ..truth but not the whole truth :p

The new ones all belong to glomac & under the aman puri branding lah...maybe also cheat one (and I got bitten too many times to try out anymore...u know, birds of same feathers flock togather...) But the mamak Sedap nasi kandar is good & reasonable.
