View Full Version : Kurnia Insurance - Missed Call

I don't know what to make of this but my experience with a staff of Kurnia Insurance (Penang Branch) this (Saturday, 3 December) afternoon tells me something is not right, not just in that company's branch in Penang, but to the people working in service industries like insurance companies.

I am currently in Singapore and am using a Maxis 012 line for the duration of my stay here. Around 2.30pm, I noticed there was a missed call from a land-line in Penang +6042284475. Since it was a Penang-registered number and my family is from Penang, I made a call to the number, just in case it was an important call from the family.

A staff picked up the phone and I had to ask him several times before he reluctantly informed me it was Kurnia Insurance. I asked if there was anyone who called my mobile number 012-XXXXXX and he asked around the office. I could hear there was a Nathan who said yes. I asked politely if could I speak to Nathan then but was told Nathan was busy at his PC working. I then informed him that I was calling from S'pore and it might be important. Moreover, he should speak to me since I am calling him back long-distance.

What I heard next from the Kurnia Insurance staff was really shocking, "Hey dei, today Saturday lah dei, we don't work Saturday, do you understand or not?" And he slammed the phone down.

I didn't have a chance to ask him why Nathan called me on a Saturday then? Coincidentally, I have an insurance policy with them and thus, their customer too.....

I wasn't just mad with the way this guy handled the call. I am sad because more and more of these big Malaysian companies have employees behaving like this. I feel for Kurnia Insurance and I weep for what is becoming of Malaysia.... Just 5-6 weeks ago, I got a socking from a MAS check-in counter girl at Penang International Airport telling me "if not happy go take Royal Brunei Airlines lah" at 5.30am in the morning and now this.....

Are we all taking this country down the drain? Whats happening to our society? Why are all these employees of "big" companies behaving so high and mighty?

You think you got problem think again. My wife just found out that the car she sold 3 years ago was never transfered by the buyer & Kurnia had been issuing insurance for the car without her knowledge nor approval. That's what Malaysian companies do as long as they get the money they don't care & they have to the cheek to tell you that it's not their fault as it's their agent that did it. :p

hello fedup...u better make a police report on this matter.

I have related, some wheere here, an incident where 7 yrs after my selling a car, a warrant of arrest was issued for me

why? i was 'supposedly' hit & run and killed a teacher. It was sorted out becos of... :D :D and the fact remains that the vehicle transfer was never done, name was never changed and it was later found out that forged ins cover not e was issued to buy the road tax.

Bewarn that the onus is ON YOU to prove your innocence shd 'your' vehicle is seized in a drug case or a federal case like kidnapping or bank robbery...u will be in DEEEEEEEP sh!t!..unless u know the right people who can vouch for you...so u better know u are who u are...
