Hi,

My company is organising a 60's/70's themed party next weekend  .... need some advice what would be good to wear for a guy? Any idea where can buy/rent some of these vintage clothes e.g. ala 'The 70's Show'??.....

Many thanks in advance....

If my memory is still intact, that was the hippie era. Dressing up is so simple - wear jeans, t-shirt, flowers in your hair (even if you are male) and maybe get a wig if you don't have shoulder length hair (if you are male). Ladies have long straight hair in those days. And oh yes, bell-bottoms (=flared trouser legs).

Hippies = flower power. Therefore have large flower motifs on your t-shirt. Get a peace pendant if you can find one.

Check this out for ideas - http://www.costumecraze.com/American-Culture-and-History-Hippie-Costumes-and-Beatnik-Costumes.html

If all else fails try to look like John Lennon or Yoko Ono (with rose tinted glasses) or dress up as a Beatle !!

Well, if you don't mind renting an outfit you can try the costume shop at Ampang City Square. I could not recall the name of the shop but its located either 1st or 2nd floor. They shop rent out mask, costume, accessories and wigs. Maybe you might wanna check out the 'afro' hairstyle.

no need to go to Ampang, there's a costume shop in SS17, cant remember the name though. near the Honda showroom, i think it's one floor up...these are the shop lots opposite the land office..
