On Saturday, i half witness another snatch thief incident. Right outside Stan Chart bank.....i was in the car waiting for my friend to come out from Stan Chart....i heard a scream from a lady, i looked up...saw a motobike speeding off....snatch thief! the lady quicking hop on to her mpv / van - big type dunno what car, but real beauty and gave chase......

What im asking for from all my fellow neighbours here is be on constant vigilant. I've heard a lot abt snatch thives in Taipan, on Saturday was the first time i witness it, i'm so disgusted. Take good care my fellow neighbours.

The problem is catching snatch theives is not a fad at this point. The focus have moved from snatch theives, road safety and now nude chinese in lockups.

thus the snatch theives are crawlling out of the wood work.

This is what Malaysian enforcement is --- "hangat hangat tahi ayam"

This is common when affluent society or ppl move around carelessely..this sort of incidents rarely occur in poorer countries I suppose.

Sad to say but it's happening in our neighbouring countries also but that doesn't justify us tolerating them. The only solution is tru education. let us provide them with jobs that pays enough for them to live on instead of emploting illegals for cheaper wages. Some of these kids just come out from the kampongs thinking that KL is lined with gold but when they start looking for jobs they found that they are no match for the illegals from our neighbours desperation will drive them to steal & snatch to keep alive. Not veryone of them will be able to renovate houses or buy mercedes. As for the cops well with the miserable salary they are getting don't expect them to patrol or catch thieves. It's more lucarative to hide behind trees & lampost. :p :p :p

Sorry Ski, I think the opposite is true. In Malaysia's case the so called "poor" are some lazy bastards or unemployable junkies who want a few quick bucks knowing and taking advantage of the poor law enforcement.

Gose, did'nt you hear of the professional snatch thief that have a terrace house and car and is a respectable member of the neighbourhood ?

Don't see or hear of this so often in affluent Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo , Sydney etc. where people wear genuine Rolexes, diamond rings and designer bags and dreamingly walk about.

Subang Jaya and USJ is now upper middle class and the constant jams and poor police patrol is a haven for snatch thieves. So next time for ladies I would suggest you buy a cheap imitation branded hand bag from Petaling Street and load in lots of Hell notes ( those which taoist gave to the dead ) and let them snatch.

Keep your IC, Cash etc in your pocket. :D :D :D

For woman, it is also unsafe to wear imitation jewellery or watches. It is just an invitation to steal.

may not b justifiable 2 condemn d absence of d cops whenever a snatching incident occurs. nobody gonna b everywhere everytime. lots of security begins wit personal caution, ie do not present opportunity n do not fall 4 old tricks like flat tires n unreasonable accidents esp those ramming-from-the-back gimmicks. if kevin and protozoa were so close and yet so helpless, cant blame em 4 being so, wat can a couple of cops do? i got some cops 2 investigate a carload of real baddie looking sickos lingering near my apartment. they had no reason 2 be around but they had neither weapons nor other offensive stuff, they had no police record, they proved their identity and ownership of d car. my guess is if i, n d cops, did not intervene, some lady coming there soon wud hv lost a handbag. but d real sicko part is when i rang a couple of neighbours 2 assist in d staking out d car while waiting 4 d cops (response time less than 15 mins) only 1 responded n d security manager resident himself refused 2 sacrifise d comfort of home n pleasure of primetime tv.

r u there wit eyes n ears n heart open wide n alert? i m no cop and definitely no cop sympatiser, but where fair comment is due, i do not hesitate. d cops can only b just as good as d cop in u.

errmm...if there were plainclothes cops around the area, definetely they will give chase if they spot a snatch thief...anyway,thatz what they are paid to do...however,if any normal bystander like u and me spot a snatch thief...would u risk ur life to chase the snatch thief?? for any sane man,the answer would be a definite NO.so it is vital that plainclothes cops be stationed arnd taipan even though i have to agree that it is also our responsibilities to prevent these incidents frm happening as wat u said...anyway at least if there were cops, there is a chance of nabbing those badasses..so take care while hanging arnd in taipan especially ladies with handbags arnd their arms...bye!
