If you are a student and on a tighter budget, how about a coke (free refill some more), ultimate nachos, pasta, mud-pie cake, ice-cream etc..and some coffee for de chatting session.. at TGIF? :) Just a suggestion..

Err..Revolving restaurant?? Perhaps you would need to expand your budget a bit to dine there..like by a 100 more? :)

I suggested TGIF cos I kinda like the ambience (a bit on the dark dark side?) hehe...and ya could get the crew to sing her a song maybe? :p

Dome? It's like Starbucks or Coffee Bean but yes, you could get some good cakes and pies there..but usually crowded wor... :p

i think 200 for 2 persons i still can afford ... but i checked the buffet for the kl tower is around 90 per person , just i and her dislike buffet ( i am not sure whether kl tower has ala carte or not but i think they have buffet for dinner ), i am more prefer ala-carte ..

initially i tought at klcc's dome one .. since i have times .. so , wanna think some other options , and try something special , if any has been any of the revolving restaurant , mind to share your experience ??
thanks :)

Putrajaya's Club House is cool.....romantic, good food (esp tom yum is marvellous), nice setting - with view of the lake. Can take a walk after makan. Food is reasonably priced - with Western and local dishes for selection.

never been hard rock before ... is it noisy ??
Try going earlier evening and on weekday.
Late nite and weekends can be crowded and noisy.
However, the food is excellent and generous portion..don't under estimate or be shocked with the prices!..you get your money's worth!. :D

Look here :

yeah..SS3 western food quality been drop..is totally diff from 10 years ago....
dont go to KL tower...food sucks (from what I heard lar)....
since u r on a budget...try Carlifonia Pizza at KLCC....price is reasonable...or Uncle Chillies at PJ Hilton...Soul Out Cafe at Sri Hartamas....so many places....my advice dont be so picky about the place...just go out with her and have fun...no need fancy restaurant... go to mid valley....have dinner there and then book a gold class movie ticket there.....after movie, go for a mamak stall....arrr....remember to make her laugh..;) then send her home...u might not know that you will be able to give a kiss to her ;)

Sound advice by Alex. Yah, if you wanna impress a lady, you have to be consistent and spontaneous too..I mean on the makan thing only. :p Just go to somewhere affordable so you could save more for the next date/dates..Not so wise if you take her out to an expensive rest. only on the first date then followed by mamak or char kuey teow the rest of the weeks (unless she wants that too)..but me no problemo, just bring me the beef noodles everyday and I'd be very happy :p

By the way, your location is in Singapore right? Nothing nice there? or nothing nice there.. :p

yap i am studying in singapore , going back to kl at the end of the year , this is my first time .... and her first time as well .. so ...... wanna leave a fantastic moment for both of us ....

generally , there are many good restaurants in singapore , mostly are like american's style restaurant such as ,jack's place , Marché , cafe cartel , brewerkz etc .. and many great hotel's style restaurant too ..

and ya , there are varieties of fast food in singapore , much much more than malaysia , but i dislike singapore's food , don;t know why i feel tasteless ... maybe because i miss home ??? hahah

khuinngiap : in SG there are still places like Barcelona, Tony Roma's, Esplanade, and etc. Just take it easy at this first date okie..stay cool..dont show your nervous face. Taman Billion, Cheras, I been there a few times already..is a cool place...after that can hit to Genting for Starbucks...;)

hi .. i am going to approach a girl that i like at the end of the year .. so .. before that i wanna have a dinner with her .. hehe , any great suggestion ?? thanks for any reply

I think in your case choosing a resturant to dine with her is immaterial. To have a lasting friendship you must impress her humbly and honestly. So any restaurants within your budget should impress her if she is really keen on you.
I still remember when i dated my wife for the first time at The Ship the steaks for us tasted like straw. ;)

alexhay
21-11-2005, 05:05 PM
i agree with Ski...there is many ways to make the first date a memorial one...as long u take it easy on the first date...remember DONT SCARE HER OFF !!! dont tell lame jokes...

with ur budget $200...take her to a normal restaurant..this is to test her if she is materialistic or not..;) if she is very happy there..then slowly only take her to a better restaurant..do it slow and easy.....

kokomo
21-11-2005, 05:11 PM
Haha .. yeah, jz take her to the most expensive mamak .. i think u still got some balance to bring her for a good show in tgv / gsc .. :D

Too bad I am not a beef eater. I been to a restaurant in Sg Way, is opposite the Kwan Ti Temple. The is a very famous beef dish...i dont know what it call..hmmm

wow..if Tony Roma is to open in KL would be great but dont know whether is a success or not...

Even Marche open in KL and from what I heard that the standard is totally diff from Singapore

Check out the Green Lotus behind Lot 10. Just walk behind Lot 10 and you won't miss it. The sign board is very bright. Very romantic and very affordable. Serves Thai food style. RM50 is enough.

Alternatively, you can check it out the eating place in StarHill (Same floor with The Shook). Never walk into The Shook, it will cost you a bomb. The eating outlets are very cosy. The serves many types of food.

Good luck, bro.

If you're looking for someplace quiet (even hushed sometimes), personalised service, reasonably prized menu (won't cost you 200 for 2 pple, probably less than 100), slightly not so run-of-the-mill Western dishes, there's Tea For Two along Jln Bangkung in Bangsar Baru. Tucked among the residential houses. I hope it's still there. Anyone from Bangsar Baru can verify this?

There's also Riblee's in SS23 (Taman SEA). Not exactly Tony Roma's but also yummy pork ribs. Tony's is brightly lit, family restaurant style. Riblee's has more subdued lighting, lots of wine bottles for decor, and won't burn a hole in your pocket too. The soup's nothing to shout about though so you might want to give that a miss.

This restauraunt mainly serves western food. D last time (Dec 04) I was there, I opt 4 their buffet dinner which was about RM70++. Not as fancy as Shang buffet (reputable 2 b best in KL) but good thing is less crowd thus hv plenty of time 2 enjoy d spread. D ala-carte menu is standard fine dining restaurant price, e.g. steak ll cost u at least $50++.

More pics.
