Was wondering if any of you have had dreams that come true? I've noticed that sometimes when i dream, a certain scene or a certain word will remain in my mind. And after a certain duration of time, say a few months to a few years, i'll stumble onto that scene and my spines tingles and i realise that i've seen it in my dreams. Has happened quite often and it somehow makes me feel like some sort of "waypoint" in my life.

Yes. Same thing for me. I get a certain sense of "deja vu" all of a sudden and just remember that I've "seen" or "done" it in my sleep before...

There must be a scientific explanation to the dreams. Deja vus? I had the dreams too but not anymore..only when I was younger. Hmm..I know it has happened somewhere sometime but couldn't remember..but it had familiarities..strange huh..

well it has been said that dreams are able to tell you what the unconscious mind is thinking about... e.g. if you are stressed you'd probably dream about it ..... but for dreams to "predict" the future seems ...... strange.

I think it's only natural. I think all of us at least have this kind of dreams before.

Remembering one of those dreams vividly now..I used to live in a big old house with my grandma when I was younger..I remember, in one of these deja vu dreams, I was always looking thru the same old grilled gate in that big old house that was always closing, and I've always managed to squeeze thru it in some awkwardly way..and somehow later, in a conscious state of mind, one day, I found myself having to actually squeeze thru that gate in the same kinda way! while it was closing! Peculiar and strange huh..

One thing I'm sure of is that I do not choose to believe in reincarnation (I've also read up a pretty lot about that relating to dreams some time ago)..Guess it's a matter of faith..As strange as it seemed when I had those dreams, I wasn't terrified, like as in nightmares (that's a different story!) or something..sorta enjoyed the experiences, in a psychological sense..

Are you sure its a dream? more like a nightmare :p

I doubt its actually reincarnation.... i feel like its more of like someone giving you hints as to whats going to happen in the future.... As for being scared, far from it, in these "dreams" i've experienced euphoria but never fear

I dream of striking empat ekor now and then but why do I always forgot the 4 magic number when I woke up? The sense of deja vu has yet to strike me with this one. :D

I travel around alot on my motorcycle (an old Honda XR650L dirtbike) to small towns and villages in Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan on long weekends.... just to have a look-see and chat with locals and enjoy the sights. In many of these places, it seems like I have been there before in my life, have met those folks before, had the same conversations before.... but its not possible because this is Borneo, man.... and I am from the Peninsula.

One of my bro-in-laws had a dream about a church, a particular church... a street name and a particular priest and small town. The dream recurred several times over a period. He went looking for the street (a familiar sounding USNO political bigwig so it has to be in Sabah rural areas) and was he shocked to see the church, the street-sign, the priest and the town EXACTLY in his dream. He left a promising and lucrative job as a Chartered Accountant and worked for same church for 2 years before returning to civilian life. Now, is that a dream? I really dunno....

Excerpt of what appeared in Sunday Star yesterday....http://thestar.com.my/lifestyle/story.asp?file=/2005/11/20/lifeliving/12625567&sec=lifeliving

"In all cultures, dreams play an important role because they foretell the likelihood of something good or bad happening. Interpreting them correctly is vital because an individual can prevent or reduce the impact of any unpleasant occurrences.

However, not all dreams are noteworthy. According to medical experts, an individual’s dream could be due to emotional or mental disturbances, or due to things seen or experienced during the day.

One should take note that only dreams which have not resulted from any such impressions should be interpreted.

It is also imperative that we determine the type of sleep an individual experiences – conscious, semi conscious or sound sleep – as they have a different impact on the type of dreams that take place. One should also determine the time he or she experienced the dream because there are four stages of sleep starting from midnight. Dreams encountered before this period are irrelevant.

Dreams in the first stage between 12 midnight and 1.30am are known to bear results within a year and dreams experienced between 1.30am and 3.30am are likely to happen within six months. Dreams in the third stage between 3.30am and 5.30am are expected to materialise within three months and dreams in the final stage, between 5.30am and before an individual wakes up, will see results within 24 hours.

Resolving dreams

In Vasthu, facing the wrong direction when sleeping can result in bad dreams and fatigue. Favourable directions – head towards the west and legs pointing towards the east – are encouraged to enjoy comfort and happiness.

Sleeping with the head towards the east and legs towards the west is auspicious and the dweller will benefit from rational thoughts. Sleeping with the head south and legs towards the north brings pleasure, happiness and wellness.

The only position to totally avoid is the head pointing towards the north and legs towards the south. In such a case, the person will experience nightmares, disturbed sleep and illness.

This position also contributes towards low self-esteem, high blood pressure and insomnia. This is because our head is considered north and if we place it towards thenorth, the magnetic repulsion between similar poles occurs.

Someone who experiences a bad dream should wake up immediately and wash his or her face, hands and feet and say a prayer before returning to sleep to reduce the impact or reoccurrence.
