HI
Todays Malay Mail Front page...excerpts.

A large number of officials is expected to go to the Philippines SEA Games next week, ostensibly for a study tour using public funds meant for sports.

Close to 200 officials from the various State Sports Councils have been given accreditation (AD) for the Games as guests or observers by the organisers through the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).This number is expected to increase to 300 before the biennial Games which kicks off on Nov
The expenditure for the observers will also be hefty. A conservative estimate for a week’s stay in the Philippines, and air fare, is RM4,000 per person.

The total expenditure may well exceed RM1 million if the number of accredited guests or observers, who are not part of the official Malaysian contingent, reaches 300.
The 586-strong Malaysian contingent, headed by chef-de- mission Low Beng Choo, comprises 379 athletes and 207 officials (including 44 support services staff).
The NSC Board members and an entourage from the Sports Ministry are expected to go to Manila as VIP guests.

Another holiday mission using public funds . What has our PM got to say on this public wastage extravagance.
Niether are we fully prepared for the Sea games, I doubt we are going to do well this time..!!!

Monkey see.... Monkey Do..... if officials disguised belly-dancing holidays as official study tours / trade-promotion missons, isn't it only expected that the lower rung courtiers in this fiefdom do the same? We only got ourselves to blame.... as taxpayers, we have allowed all these nonsense to continue without even a whimper of protest. In the past, we merely shook our head whenever such nonsense happened and soon, all would be forgiven and forgotten. Yes, we only got ourselves to blame for this rot......

I 100% agree with U.

Rakyat memilih Kerajaan.

Benar tetapi sedih.

Harap-harap dengan memakai jersi nasional Harimau, jangan pulang menjadi Kucing.

I wonder how many people would spend their hard earn money to buy our national Harimau jersey with "HORIZONTAL" strips.

Don't the designer know that "HORIZONTAL" strips makes the people wearing it look FAT.

Back to the issue, today The Star page 55 Sport section reported a response from NSC that mentioned that nobody is getting a free ride, 37 people are supposed to write reports for the NSC after the games. I think their reports would be something like:-

Perlawanan pertama.

Keputusan : Seri.
Alasan : Traffic jam. Tidak ada masa untuk warm-up
Cadangan : Kurangkan masa "shopping" selama 15 minit.

Perlawanan kedua.

Keputusan : Kalah tipis.
Alasan : Para pemain keletihan sebab keluar lewat malam

Perlawanan ketiga.

Keputusan : Mencapai kemenangan "upset".

Alasan : Para pemain terlalu "over- confidence" selepas kemenangan "upset" perlawanan sebelum ini.

Just for laugh, jangan marah.

If the Sea games were held in bolehland, most of the officials and useless observers would probably stay at home and follow it on TV at their own leisure times sitting on their fat asses.

Shame on all those tag along cheapskates using our precious taxpayer's money. :(
