Anyone knows any better ABC than that @Sri Melaka in PJ State? There they use santan kelapa muda instead of milk. Ummmph...yummy. But I hate going there - parking problem

The best cendol is @bus stand Kuala Pilah, NS. Instead of gula melaka, they use gula kabung/ gula anau. Wonder if forumers know what gula kabung/anau is?? It's like gula melaka but made from the anau (kind of palm tree, with "itchy" trunk :p ) syrup

Here I come.. :D

Harmony, I've been to Sri Melaka many years ago..when I was single and had to follow mummy & aunties wherever they ate..Yes, remember the ice kacang, and the 'black sauce' deep fried fish and the kerabu chicken feet..and yes, also the parking problem but somehow they always managed..

I've no idea what's gula kabung/anau but I love gula melaka..the sweetness of my hometown.. :)

But his preference, the one outside Apollo restaurant, cos the indian chap has always been too friendly with him (big round uncle) and always add in the extras for him.. :p

But ar, the one in SS15 long queue lar..but ok i guess.. :)

I think this place have the best Cendol (mamak style like the one in SS 15) :-
Section 20 Shah Alam, the stall at the corner road side opposite Selangor Medical Centre. I think is beside the Warung Restoran. The owner actually cook the red beans himself not from the can and his cendol is very fresh and yummy! One bowl is definately not enough! I think is only RM1.20 per bowl for the cendol and red beans, others on his list is with pulut and ABC type.
I also love the Malacca cendol as I like the taste of the pure gula melaka mixed with the santan.... umph...it just so tempting. Unfortunately it can't be taking away, if not, I will ask Mon to "ta pau" for me :D

Did you ever DIY cendol or not ? Try this during Raya time, at Carrefour, they sell all the color jelly, cincao and sago bean in all colour, buy a tin of milk sweetener (a picture of cendol), soak your red bean for a night, cook tomorrow until it is soft. Buy a gula melaka (RM.75)mix with a little water or crush the gula into tiny pieces and boil.

When the thing are ready, add all the sago bean, color jelly and cincao, crush ice with some kind of multi food processor (I bought the one from Shinmoro RM200 - it can do all the thing minced and cut and juices in no time),pour gula melaka those kou kou one (as you prefer), milk sweetener and rose syrup on top of the ice, and more kacang.... I manage to buy all ingredient and it cost very little.

Not to forget, it is custom made for my appetide

You can get the Penang Road cendol at Giant USJ1... thats a branch set up by previous owner of Giant Teng Yew Huat & his bro Francis Teng because they both loved the cendol so much...

I thought the best cendol in Kuala Pilah is at the bazaar, next to Rojak Ibrahim (which according to my husband, is the best in Malaysia, obviously he was born and bred there)?

p.s. Each time I am in K Pilah I buy back gula anau...
