I suggest PS3, if you can wait for the price of it to lower. Theres a high probability it will be jacked too.

Otherwise, get yourself a PS2.

PS3 only will be launch around end of 2006, so there's a long long wait for it.
Estimated launching price also will be around RM2K++
and game selection will be a bit limited also
and there won't be crack for PS3 to play local "ahem" games probally until mid 2007, unless you got the cash to buy ori

So, if you got plenty of $$$ and patient, go for PS3.
Limited $$$ and want to have instant fun, got for PS2 which is currently around RM700 - RM800, with more than a few thounsand existing games to choose from.
