SPM? That seems like ages ago now.
Out of all the big milestones in ones life, I think SPM is probably the LEAST important one, so my advice is : don't worry about it. Bring in a bar of chocolate to the exam area just to piss everyone off. Haha.

That seems to remind me of my age...

SPM was almost long forgotten, but hey, I still have nightmares over it occasionally... it's always me sitting in the exam hall and to find out that I have not done any revision at all!!!!

Today, SPM results is not even in my CV anymore.

Relax and have fun, Msianidle. Good luck!

I hope you are prepared and I pray you do well. This is the first important exam in your life.

Years after when you attend old boys' function, people will ask you which year you left school ....they all mean GCE,MCE,SPM year not HSC, STMP, Metri etc. etc. This is an important year in ones lifetime...do well my young friend.
All the best.

SPM...9 subjects back then...spread over 3 weeks...2 exams in a day back to back.

I wonder how me and my peers managed to go through that last time. And now fifth formers got, what, 17 papers to do? That should double the exam period to 6 weeks, no?

Yalah, SPM seemed long, long time ago. That year I still remembered what naughty things I did besides studies.... :D
But Msianidle, you must relax and don't be too tense or else you may forget a lot things studied just before you enter the exam hall/class. May the force be with you.... ;)

Like Orchie, I know not SPM... in my time it was MCE which was recognised by Cambridge. You folks go figure how old the 2 of us can be by that clue :)

Anyways, no sweat lah for the 5th form exams. You try to get through HSC (today's equivalent = STPM) - that was one tough exam, probably the toughest in the whole school life of a student. No wonder nowadays they all go for pre-U matriculation instead. But that is a digression on this thread.

All the best to those taking the SPM. But I have a nagging suspicion that more than 95% of the readers here are well beyond that level ;)

oh well! perhaps parents of SPM-er's then! ;) anyway thanks everyone for the encouragement!

and it seems we have to answer our essay papers in booklets now.. they look good.. but out of the thick booklet (10+ pages?) we only had to use 4 pages.. a waste of paper? I don't know.. would have preferred to stick with the normal loose sheets of paper..

You may not know, some of us write alphabets very big size and instead of 4 pages you may end up with 8-10 pages ... :D

Those who took MCE should be 43 years old and above ... :D

Err...Orchi's punya have all gone missing...do you think perhaps the schools might still keep a record of our past...:o

Yes..that's how old we are if we still remembers mce. MCE was replace with spm somwhere in end 70's . Should not be a difficult hurdle to get through spm now.

Yeah.....not just to do fairly well or pass thru (cukup makan)......but with more n more tuitions........expectation of scoring strings of As becoming greater than ever............i 've seen a kid being whack kaw-kaw (until kepala oso kena rotan) for missing one A from his list of subjects........so pathetic.......what to do.......too many kiasu parents.............hahaha :D

Another instance when the fader said.........whole school number two only ar............why r u so stupid.........one more kid oso u cannot beat.......si beh gong.........tak sai cheh (study shiity knowledge.......means stupid lar)..........send u to so many tuition and u only can show me so much......what a waste of money........sad case!! :(

Yalah, Orchi, come to think of it, I am wondering where did I put all my certificates including my degree cert.... :D The last time I saw my degree certificate it was already mouldy and don't know how to get rid of it... :p Anyway hope that I don't need those anymore ...
