MAS losing money - consistently.

SIA making money - consistently.

Maybe the gohmen should sell MAS to Tony Fernandes for RM1 plus accumulated debts?

But that will raise the ire of the ultra-nationalists in u-know-where.

Seems to me that no one has a clue as to what to do with MAS, let alone run it professionally. How much more plastering over MAS's cuts and wounds can the gohmen adminster?

Not at all. Now that we finally have something reminescent of domestic competition, we should not destroy it. If Tony takes over MAS he will become another Astro...

Not the ultra-nationalists. Rather the ultra-racists. Nationalists are those who wish the best for the nation, i.e. sell out MAS, sell out Proton. Racists are those who see racial ownership as more important than performance.

Sell it to someone for RM8 per share and buy it back 5 years later for RM8.... after the airlines has been stripped off its valuable assets and landed up with an useless cargo air hub somewhere in the wilderness of the German hinterland....

That's biz, Msian-style!!!

Its the bureaucrats, fence sitters and seat warmers in MAS, Malaysia Airports and the Transport Ministry who are the culprits. Will they be held to account? Not when "ultra" agendas dominate the political process and dialogue.

Word has it that MAS has been consistently losing money, which is why PNB bailed out of its proposed bond issue - to the cynical derision of the fund managers and financial markets. Its a slap in the face for the gohmen which gave the proposed bond issue sovereign backing.

Aiyah, sell MAS lock-stock-and sorry barrel to Tony F, or else to the ever-acquisitive Temasek Holdings. Never mind the "ultras" - they wouldn't know competition and free markets if it stood and hit them in the face!

i) MAS cannot make money coz so many layers of VIPs sitting on BOD/management
ii) Tony can make money coz he is the only one who says things around air asia and everyone follow.............as he is also the owner, its rather illogical that he would say stupid things.....RITE

If only there were no vested interest in MAS and MAS is allowed to function like an airline proper, this airlines will always be in the dumps... for all the wrong reasons.... :o :(

Even after 30-35 years of service to the airlines and the country, you would be suprised that even senior inflight supervisors are retired without a proper farewell or thank you... so depressing!

The only people that MAS presently is taking good care of these days in terms of pay, perks and allowances, are their pilots... for fear of losing them to the Middle Eastern or Oriental airlines. Everyone else is dispensable.... that oso subject to debate by the pilots themselves... One pilot gleefully showed off his payslip with an indecent 6 figure amount. Still trying to figure out if he was showing off or being an arse-head!
