I'm thinking of getting a salt lamp for my room and was looking for the best deal in town. Any idea where to get it? :) How can I tell if the salt lamp is a good grade? By color? Also the ionizing effect, can we really feel it or something like that? Appreciate some feedback/comments. Thanks. :)

i've bought one recently. It was a 7kg salt lamp, cost me about rm 140. Not so sure how you tell them apart but someone told me that the best salt lamps are the ones that come from poland... and the so-so ones are the ones from China.
I don't think the colour makes any difference, more of a preference.

I've smelt the "after the rain" smell when i've come back from work in my room. really nice.. :D but as to whether its ionizing....beats me.

and if you do buy one, you MUST keep the light on for 24/7 or the "lamp" will melt. Moisture from the air will "attack" it so the lamp melts and you get salt crystals on your table.. happened to me when my bulb fused and it took me 2 weeks to find a new one.

Wow, 7kg is too big for my room. :). It should be ok for my hall. I heard some of them are from Himalaya. Some many colors and grades out there, not sure which one is good. Am planning to get the 4/5kg with marble base. Btw, where did you get it? Looks like a good deal at RM140.

it is the EMF (electromagnetic field) that made you restless. it is best to turn off all the elctrical appliances around your bed while asleep..

To turn off all electrical appliances when the lamp is on is a little absurd, don't you think?! You mean to say, if I have the lamp in my living room, I need to off the tv, radio, fan and everything else elctrical just to have the lamp on?!!!!! A little too far, man.

I honestly don't know the reason why you get a headache but the excuse that other elec appliances are the cause is really unacceptable, unless you can elaborate.

I have sold these lamps to my in-laws and friends. One of my in-law was lucky to have a piece in a shape of a cross, red coror so more wor. She is asmatic and has it in her room next to her bed. It is switched on 24/7 and she says that she doesn't get her attack as often as she did. Very minimal.

My other other bro-in-law has it in his living room. The family claim that it purifies the air and whenever we smoke, the room is not foggy and odourless. Another friend is really happy with the purchase as he says that the house is less dustier. Maybe you guys should buy this stuff instead of a vacuum cleaner!!!

Maybe some can't agree to it, I have not met any yet, but am sure it is normal. If you must, try a small onefirst. The prices are dirt cheap these days. It is also aesthetic to have it in your living room.
