Eating Out with Patrick
Mee Goreng, Pasembor, Chendol....anyone?
Cry no more. We, in USJ, now have our very own Mee Goreng, Pasembor, chendol...alfresco!!
Posted on 03.46pm Jan 22, 2009
My recent frustrating pasembor experience at Makbul sent me on an investigative search for a good pasembor within our precinct. And guess what I found?
Pasembor Hussin located at the padang junction of USJ 20/7 and USJ20/8C. In case you are still blur, well..take Kewajipan and head past Sekolah Wawasan towards LDP. When you reach the traffic light just before the Petronas Station, turn left. (I think this is Jln Damai or USJ20/1). Padang is on your left. Turn left at USJ 20/7 and you should see the van up ahead of you, next to the padang. No tables, just chairs. You can call up Incik Hussin at 016 2709178.
According to Hussin, he has been selling here for many years! (...and this idiot writer didnt even know about it...grrrhh!!)His speciality is his mee goreng and pasembor. The mee rebus is not too bad but a little bit short on oomph. Not sure what is missing though. (Hey, I am no cook...ok?)The cendol too is pretty good at RM1.50 a bowl. Also available are different types of cendol, at different prices of course! Air sirap is at RM1.30. All the mee and pasembor is at RM4.00. Easy huh?
Hussin hails from Alor Star. In fact, his dad used to sell in a hugely popular restaurant called Bunga Tanjong near the Tongkong Yard/Jalan Pegawai junction.
Anyway, Hussin seems to be quite popular amongst those who knows his existence. Customers and cars keep coming by almost without end, even though there are no tables to seat customers, only chairs. But knowing Malaysians, where food is good....anything pun boleh!!....ha ha..!!
Hussin is open everyday from 12 - 6pm and closes on Friday. Those particularly from the North should appreciate Hussin's style of cooking. Go taste it and give us your verdict!
Bon appetite !
