If you love Japanese food, but not the price, fret no more. Sumo Japanese Restaurant is owned and managed by a husband and wife team. Joanne manages the business whilst her better half is the chef. They were in a similar business in New York before deciding to come home. The restaurant is clean with a pleasant ambience and plays very unobtrusive Japanese music. This makes a very ideal location for a tasty, inexpensive business or social meal.
The outlet is located in the Subang Business Centre (diagonally opposite Ah Koong Noodle House). Sumo offers a good range of set (Bento) meals from as low as RM8.95 for a Chicken Teriyaki Set (Grill Chicken) to 16.95 for a Sushi & Tenzaru Set (Mixed sushi, futomaki, tempura and zaru soba). For Japanese meals, such pricings are extremely affordable. They also offer a big range of sushi combo for eat-in or take away. A friend of mine recently ordered a sushi pack for a pot luck party that proved to be a huge success. The sushi combo are priced as low as RM5.95.
To entice more residents to enjoy the taste of Japanese cuisine and experience the outlet, Sumo will be running a "Fish Promotion" for the period 10 Dec 2001 to 10 Jan 2002.
A 15% discount will be given for all orders on Salmon, Saba, Sanma and Eel items, sashimi and sushi excepted. Imagine, an Unagi(Eel) Set which already costs a low of RM13.95 will then cost less than RM12!! Those who are into Japanese cuisine will tell you that at this price it is a steal for an Unagi set!
So keep a date with Sumo for your next Japanese meal. And to our Muslim friends...dont worry! Sumo is pork free!!
